Senate constantly asks students “What’s your issue?” Every decision SGA
makes is based on students’ needs and input. With 23 senators, SGA persistently
works to solve your concerns. It meets with school officials, researches
possible solutions, and creates and passes legislation.
To
ensure that the entire student body is heard, every Senator represents a
specific constituency: There are 12 school senators, 4 class senators, 3
student organization senators, and 4 at-large senators. See a visual
outline of the structure.
Each
senator sits on at least one of the four standing committees: the Allocations
Committee, the Academic Affairs Committee, the Campus Inclusion Committee, and
the Student Life Committee.
If
you have any questions, concerns, or issues to bring up to Senate please
contact the speaker of Senate, Myke Thompson at thomp195@mail.chapman.edu.
If
you’re interested in learning more, feel free to come to a meeting! Senate
meets every Friday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Argyrous Forum Second Floor Boardroom. Or, look at the attendance record if you have questions about your representation.
