+ - Interested in becoming a Visiting Poet?
If you’re interested in reading during an upcoming Tabula Poetica series at Chapman University, we would be happy to hear from you. We strive to represent a range of aesthetics, geographies, and stages of career in every reading series. The annual series occurs during the fall semester, with occasional one-off events in the spring for poets who have spring book tours scheduled in Southern California.
Visiting writers in the Poetry Reading Series must have published at least one full-length collection. At this time, we are not considering self-published poets.
Each visiting poet in this series gives both a poetry talk and a poetry reading on a Tuesday. In addition, a class visit and/or meal for informal conversation with our students and faculty can be arranged. A stipend, currently supported through the Department of English and Poets & Writers, Inc., is paid to each visiting poet. Visiting poets are responsible for their own travel arrangements.
For more information, contact Dr. Anna Leahy at firstname.lastname@example.org. The best time for initial contact is November or January for the following fall.
