Advance your financial literacy with the Personal Financial Seminar!  Want to organize your financial affairs, achieve your financial objectives, and secure a sound financial future?  The Hoag Center for Real Estate and Finance at Chapman University in Orange County is pleased to offer a 2-week seminar on personal financial management.   The course starts with the basics and no prior knowledge of finance is assumed.

We will cover topics such as:

  • Budgeting
  • Banking
  • Borrowing
  • Savings
  • Renters Rights and Home Buying
  • Car Buying or Leasing
  • Insurance and Retirement
  • Investment Fundamentals

The program fee will include all materials.  There will be no sales pitches for additional products - just real knowledge you can use.  Certified Financial Educator and Chapman University Academic Advisor Kelly Rogers will be teaching the class.

The program fee will include all materials and instruction.  We have charged $100 for the Personal Finance Seminar in previous years and are happy to announce that we will be providing the course at a significant discount this year. 

Current students and Chapman Alumni: $15, Chapman Staff and Faculty: $20, All others: $25

+-About the Instructor

Kelly Rogers Kelly Rogers has been teaching finance since 2006, with a strong emphasis in personal finance education. She is completing her Ph.D. in educational studies from Chapman University, and obtained a masters in business administration from Chapman University, Argyros School of Business and Economics. Her undergraduate degree is in consumer finance from California State University, Long Beach. She also teaches finance at Brandman University and is a consultant for Orange County United Way. Prior to Chapman, Kelly served as the Chief Development Officer at Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Orange County, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free financial services to the community.  She's currently an Adjunct Faculty at the Argyros School of Business and Economics.
