The Hoag Center for Real Estate and Finance at Chapman University is hosting a Homeownership Fair with the Orange County Young Professionals Network.  Our mission is to educate the public on all aspects of buying or selling a home.  The event is for Southern California home owners, home buyers, and seasoned investors.  Receive free information on buying a home for the first time, foreclosure prevention, real estate investing strategies, purchasing REO / distressed properties, and much more!

  • Steven ThomasSteven Thomas is the Chief Economist at Reports On Housing.  Report On Housing was started in 2004 as a way to communicate what buyers, sellers and real estate professionals were experiencing in the trenches, tracking demand, inventory, distressed homes and market data at both the county and city levels.  Steven Thomas, a California Real Estate Broker with over 20 years of real estate experience and a degree in Quantitative Economics and Decision Sciences from the University of California, San Diego, developed Reports On Housing and is considered an expert in real estate housing trends.  Reports On Housing has been utilized and quoted by the Orange County Register, Los Angeles Times, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, USA Today, Bloomberg, Fortune Magazine, Orange County and Los Angeles Business Journals, ABC, CBS and NBC television reporters, Cox Cable Television, KNX1070, KFIAM640, blogs and Internet news sites, resulting in newspaper, television and radio appearances.

    Besides his passion for real estate, Steven is busy raising 6 children, from 3 year old Mason to a 17 year old in high school.  He loves to run long distances pushing his youngest two in a double jogger while the older kids cycle beside him. Steven has served on the Orange County Association of Realtors as a Director and currently chairs the Media Task Force.

  • What Visitors Need to Know about Parking

    Chapman Parking Map (PDF)

    Regulations
    All parking areas are restricted 24 hours-per-day, seven days-per-week. During restricted hours all vehicles must display a valid parking permit. You must purchase a short-term parking permit unless you have received a pass in advance.

    Where to Park
    The Argyros Lot accessed via Center Street, the Cypress Lot at the intersection of Cypress and Sycamore, or the Marion Knott Studios Lot at Palm and Lemon. After 4 p.m. weekdays and all day weekends, visitors may also park in the Barrera Structure at Sycamore and Lemon and the Lastinger Structure located off Walnut between Glassell and Center.

    Permits at the Argyros Lot
    Admission guests with valid parking permits may park in one of the spaces designated Admissions Guest. All other visitors may park in any unreserved space in the lot. Temporary permits are required and may be purchased from the permit dispenser located at the south end of the parking lot next to the motorcycle designated parking area. Be sure to place the permit face-up on your dashboard.

    Permits at Cypress Lot
    Visitors may park in any space in the lot. Temporary permits may be purchased from the permit dispenser located next to the blue emergency phone in the middle of the parking lot. Be sure to place the permit face-up on your dashboard.

    Permits at Marion Knott Studios Lot
    Visitors may park in any unreserved space in the lot. Temporary permits are required and may be purchased from the permit dispenser located in the rear parking area. Be sure to place the permit face-up on your dashboard.

    Permits in Barrera Structure
    Visitors may only park after 4 p.m. weekdays or all day weekends on any level of the structure in any unreserved space. Temporary permits are required and may be purchased at one of the permit dispensers located on levels 1 and 3; find dispensers in corner by elevator. Be sure to place the permit face-up on your dashboard.

    Permits in Lastinger Structure
    Visitors may only park after 4 p.m. weekdays or all day weekends on either level of the structure in any unreserved space. Temporary permits are required and may be purchased at the entrance to the structure in the right hand lane at the provided permit dispenser. Be sure to place the permit face-up on your dashboard.

    Cost
    $2 for 2 hours; $3 for 4 hours; $5 for 12 hours.

    City Streets
    The streets adjacent to campus are reserved for resident-only permit parking. The affected blocks are marked with red and white signs. It is likely that you will be ticketed by the City of Orange if you park in one of these areas. Curb-side parking is allowed only on the campus side of the University perimeter.
