The Chapman University Alumni Association is a vibrant volunteer-based organization guided by an elected Board of Directors, supported by staff operating within the Alumni Relations office, as part of the Strategic Engagement and Development department.

Chapman’s alumni board comprises active professionals and citizens of Chapman’s community who are making a difference in next generation alumni issues. Board members serve three-year terms.

Are you interested in serving on the Alumni Association Board of Directors? 

Applications will be accepted for a three-year term commencing June 1, 2017 and ending May 31, 2020 in Spring 2017.

The strongest candidates for the board are individuals who:

  • Want to share their expertise and talents to advance the goals of the Alumni Association
  • Are able to invest their time and efforts in Chapman's future to benefit all alumni and students
  • Attend Chapman events to engage alumni, staff and others
  • Ideally have volunteered with the Alumni Association or in an alumni capacity for Chapman University
  • Are willing to give to Chapman University annually (Note: The key here is participation, not the amount of the gift.)
  • Are connected with other alumni and/or can otherwise influence involvement with Chapman University

All alumni are invited to participate in any of the areas listed. You do not need to be a member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors to serve on a committee. Many committees also have opportunities for alumni who do not live locally.

Are you interested in Chapman events? The engagement committee ensures an alumni presence at Chapman events and keeps other alumni up to date on what they can participate in. The Ambassador Committee is charged with ensuring that there is an alumni presence at major Chapman events. Sub-committees include ambassador, young alumni, and outreach. contact Connie Benson '93 to learn more.

The Young Alumni Society subcommitte engages young alumni (those who have graduated within the last 10 years) through events and programming. To learn more about getting involved, contact Karlie Harstad '09.

Help the Chapman alumni network stay connected to the University through communications channels including social media, blogging, the alumni e-newsletter, the website and more.
