Cheryl Strayed - New York Times Bestselling Author

Tuesday, September 29, 2015
7 p.m.
Memorial Hall

How do we retain wildness in ourselves? How do we stay in touch with those things that allow us to take risks, change patterns, and see the world differently? The event will discuss the importance of natural wildness – the wilderness that exists outside of our day to day living that preexists us, surrounds us, and yet can seem so far away. How do we reconnect to wilderness? And when we do what impact does it have on us?

New York Times bestselling author Cheryl Strayed will discuss her bestseller Wild, which was adapted into the 2014 film of the same name, starring Reese Witherspoon. An interactive panel discussion will follow the presentation. After the event, Strayed will be on hand to autograph copies of Wild, which will be available for purchase.

The event is general admission and open to the public. Learn more »

Class of 2010 5-Year Reunion

Friday, October 2, 2015
6 - 9 p.m.
Barbara Bush Patio, Bush Conference Center, Beckman Hall, Room 404

"Can you believe it’s been five years since we walked across the stage at graduation (we were the first year the class was too big to have graduation all at once!)? Celebrating that moment was a highlight for all, and now it’s time to properly celebrate that milestone again.

Much has changed since we graduated from Chapman, but the “Chapman Spirit” has remained the same. During this five-year anniversary celebration we will make new memories as we reconnect with Chapman friends, remember classmates, recount stories, and celebrate in each other’s achievements over the past five years. It’s time to cheers to the engagements and weddings, promotions, personal achievements, and new babies, in person, rather than just ‘liking’ them on Facebook. This is also the perfect opportunity to visit campus and reconnect with the place we once called home.

I hope to see you all in October to kick-off the University’s first-ever Five Year Reunion." - Riley (Donovan) Couglin '10, Class of 2010 Representative

Class of 2005 10(ish)-Year Reunion

Friday, October 2, 2015
6 - 9 p.m.
Marvin W. Meyer Faculty Athenaeum, Argyros Forum, Room 310

"It's crazy to think that we graduated from Chapman University 10 years ago! I could swear it was just last week that we all gathered in the heat on the old Chapman grass field one last time to receive our diplomas. Join us for a fun-filled dinner with drinks on the Faculty Athenaeum Patio in Argyros Forum to catch up with friends, professors and staff. Since we know all our friends weren't in the same graduating class as us, we’re bending the rules a bit and inviting the Class of 2004 and the Class of 2006. We look forward to seeing you in October!" - Kevin Hansen ’05 and David May ’05. Class of 2005 Representatives

Class of 1990 25-Year Reunion

Friday, October 2, 2015
7 - 10 p.m.
Hester Faculty Senate Boardroom, Lyon Conference Center, Argyros Forum, Room 201

"Can you believe it’s been 25 years since we walked across the stage on the now called Wilson Field at Chapman University? Chapman has expanded so much since we graduated. To us, it was Chapman College with less than 300 people in our class. Now, Chapman has expanded to a university and has grown to a graduating class of over 1500 students. Lets come back home and see what new over a fun-filled dinner with drinks to catch up with old classmates and former professors and staff." - Ariel Bailey Fernald '90, Class of 1990 Representative

  • It’s a social event (not a fundraising event), so relax and enjoy!
  • Bring some business cards; you never know when you’ll make a connection.
  • Have fun!

We’d love to expand the Chappy Hour program to more regions across the country. It's easy to organize a Chappy Hour and we'll help you promote it, including registration. We'll also send you a Chappy Hour Care Package full of goodies to decorate with and give to attendees.
